Join us for an inspiring evening of art, connection, and community as El Jardin Inn presents Bloom After Dark Vol. 4, celebrating our current Flower Power Artist Residency artist, Giannina "Gia" Gutierrez.
Surrounded by lush greenery and creative energy, guests are invited to experience Gia's work, meet the artist, and enjoy an intimate gathering designed to foster meaningful conversation and artistic exchange.
Featured Resident Artist: Gia Gutierrez
Born in Barranquilla, Colombia, raised in Jamaica, Queens, New York, and now based in East Harlem, Giannina Gutierrez is a multimedia artist, muralist, and teaching artist whose work is deeply informed by her Caribbean heritage, New York City upbringing, and enduring love of animal and plant life.
After studying at the Art Students League and earning a Fine Arts degree from Pratt Institute, Gia developed a multidisciplinary practice spanning painting, drawing, sculpture, and public art. Her work explores themes of growth, resilience, humanity, and universal harmony, reflecting both personal experiences and observations of the world around her.
As a muralist and educator, Gia is passionate about collaborating with communities to promote expression, inclusion, individuality, and sustainability. Today, she remains active as a public artist and teaching artist while continuing to expand her mixed-media studio practice.
