We Met in Miami and The Things Lab are teaming up for an evening of swapping, storytelling, creating and connecting.
Things Swap
Share and connect with others while letting go of those things you have been holding onto. Discover treasures for your own use and keep them out of a landfill.
Bring no more than 10 gently used items (no clothes or books). Things must be clean, functional, and ready for a new home.
You can also come without things to swap and make a Pay What You Value tax-deductible donation to The Things Lab for things you take home.
Things Show & Share
Do you still have a treasured toy that you clearly outgrew, but could not give away? What is your most cherished possession that you would take if you were evacuating?
What is that special item that a dear friend or family member gave you that you never want to let go? Or do you just have a quirky tale to tell about a random object that you found?
Come tell us about it at the Things Show & Share.
If you’re worried about losing the object, bring a photo of it or just describe it to us.
Recycled Paper Making
Give discarded paper another go around.
Drop in throughout the evening for a hands-on paper-making activity led by art educator Svetlana Astafurova.
We’ll break it down and transform it into new handmade sheets, which We Met will use as thank-you notes for our donors this coming fundraising season.
Enjoy complimentary La Rubia blonde ale.
Food will be available for purchase.

6:30 p.m. Arrival. Check in. Sign up for the things show & share. The Things Swap and recycled paper-making activities will take place continuously throughout the event.
7 p.m. Opening. We'll say hello with some introductions and an icebreaker.
8 p.m. Things Show & Share. Step up to the microphone to tell a brief story about one of your favorite things and why it is meaningful for you.
9:30 p.m. Event end. Meet someone cool? Submit your Connection Card. If it's a match, we'll help you reconnect.
